Integrated Therapeutic Massage Techniques:

The therapist will consult with you to create an approach which utilizes a combination of the bodywork modalities listed below to achieve your health and wellness goals. This session will include postural assessment and orthopedic testing to carefully customize the session treatment plan to your specific needs.

• Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT): NMT is a targeted therapeutic modality for clients who present with a variety of musculoskeletal pathologies and chronic pain conditions. It is often successful in reducing or eliminating even longstanding painful conditions. This includes a wide variety of conditions: from low back and cervical/neck pain, frozen shoulder, golfer’s or tennis elbow, tendonitis, tension headaches, repetitive stress injuries and beyond. Treatment will also include time for initial assessment of condition.
• Swedish: Swedish massage helps to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by working the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of the heart, kneading strokes to “milk” tight muscles, and compression strokes. However, Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
• Deep Tissue: Deep tissue massage therapy is a therapeutic modality that works to release chronic muscle tension and postural holding patterns that are no longer serving to maintain health and balance. Focus is placed on targeting specific layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).
• Myofascial Mobilization:  Myofascial release is a soft tissue therapy for the treatment of skeletal muscle immobility and pain and improving postural patterns.
  The method engages the myofascial tissue by loading it with gradual, constant pressure until release occurs.To achieve this, practitioners may use slow stretches, glides, and unwinding to moves slowly through the layers of the fascia to release patterns induced through trauma, injury, and daily activities.
• Craniosacral Therapy: Craniosacral Therapy is a modality of bodywork intended to relieve pain and tension through gentle manipulations of the skull, sacrum, and connective tissues. It is promotes deep relaxation, helps to replenish your energy reserves, and facilitates healing and resilience by harmonizing with a natural rhythm of the central nervous system.
• Body Mobilization Techniques (BMT):  A therapeutic bodywork modality that uses jostling, compressions, and stretches to help release holding patterns, muscle tension, and reset the nervous system to provide fuller functionality and ease of movement
• Lymphatic Drainage Massage Lymphatic drainage massages are done in a specific rhythm and direction to increase natural flow of the lymphatic system in the body and assist in carrying away waste products from the tissues back toward the heart.  This can help reduce swelling, inflammation, and improve cellular detoxification, immune function and healing.
